The role:
As a Speech Pathologist, you will be tasked with providing both clinic and community-based therapeutic services primarily to children and their families. Your role will involve conducting assessments and delivering therapy in natural environments for children and adolescents, ensuring that each therapy session is personalized and client-centered. You will demonstrate the ability to adapt therapy activities to meet the specific needs, preferences, and progress of your clients. Moreover, your role requires maintaining continuous service by having multiple future appointments scheduled, facilitating consistent therapeutic engagement.

Your responsibilities will include a strong commitment to professional development through private study, participation in interest groups, and ongoing learning to stay abreast of evidence-based practices. This dedication is essential for enhancing your clinical skills and ensuring the delivery of high-quality therapeutic services. You will engage in regular goal reviews with families, seek feedback to gauge client satisfaction, and build positive relationships to support client retention and effective therapeutic outcomes.

You will be expected to manage your time efficiently to meet productivity targets, optimize client care, and maintain professional responsibilities without overstressing. Proficiency in scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and managing documentation within set timeframes will be crucial. Additionally, you'll ensure that all clinical reporting and documentation adhere to ethical and legal standards, maintaining confidentiality and client autonomy throughout the therapeutic process.

Furthermore, your role will embody and promote core values such as evidence-based practice, child-centered play therapy, respecting neurodiversity, and employing a strengths-based approach. Collaboration is also a key aspect of your position, where you will support and mentor less experienced therapists, share knowledge and resources with the team, and participate actively in educational sessions. Upholding professional integrity and contributing to a safe and organized work environment will be integral to your day-to-day activities.
