The Role:
You will be responsible for establishing and leading a culturally safe and responsive support hub tailored to the needs of Aboriginal women and families. Your duties will include designing and implementing programs that promote family wellbeing, cultural identity, and community empowerment. You will work closely with Elders, community leaders, and service providers to ensure programs are culturally appropriate and effective.
The role involves coordinating efforts across health, education, and social services to improve access and engagement for community members. You will also facilitate community consultations, advise service providers on best practices for culturally safe service delivery, and support local governance structures to ensure community-led decision making.
Additionally, you will monitor and evaluate program outcomes to ensure they align with community priorities and contribute to strengthening community resilience and self-determination.
Requirements:
- Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, or related fields
- Driver’s License
- Working with Children Ochre Card or ability to obtain
- Proven experience working with Aboriginal communities
- Strong stakeholder engagement and cultural awareness
