The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee the delivery of recovery-oriented psychosocial support within a dynamic digital mental health environment.

This leadership role is responsible for managing a multidisciplinary team delivering online community engagement, psychosocial recovery support, moderated forums, group programs, webinars and individual support via phone and digital channels.

The Team Leader will provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and guidance to ensure safe, high-quality service delivery aligned with best practice and organisational frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the daily operations of a remote psychosocial support team delivering digital mental health services

  • Providing coaching, mentoring and supervision to staff to support performance and professional development

  • Monitoring service quality, compliance and performance against key service targets

  • Managing risk, incident response and escalations for complex participant presentations

  • Ensuring services align with recovery-oriented, trauma-informed practice

  • Supporting a positive team culture focused on wellbeing, collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Participating in on-call and in-shift support rosters where required

  • Contributing to service development, quality improvement and reporting for internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related discipline

  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in mental health or related field

  • At least 3 years leadership experience managing or supervising teams

  • Demonstrated experience in risk management, crisis response and complex mental health presentations

  • Experience coaching, mentoring and developing staff within a service delivery environment

  • Strong understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice

  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced digital service environment

Highly regarded:

  • Registration or eligibility for registration with AHPRA, PACFA, ACA or AASW

  • Experience in digital mental health services or online community moderation

  • Experience facilitating mental health recovery groups

  • Knowledge of Digital Mental Health Standards and compliance frameworks
