The role
This position is a combined School Nurse / Student Reception role, focused on providing high-quality first aid and wellbeing support to students (and where required, staff and visitors), while also helping maintain a calm, welcoming and professional front office environment.
You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day presentations to sick bay, administering prescribed medication as required, and supporting the coordination and upkeep of student medical needs—such as health management plans and responses for common school-based health risks (including asthma and anaphylaxis).
Alongside the clinical component, you’ll assist with reception and administration tasks such as answering calls, handling parent enquiries, student sign-in/sign-out outside usual times, maintaining student records (training provided where needed), and supporting the broader front office as required.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (AHPRA/NMBA registration)
- Strong first aid capability (current First Aid certificate and sound procedural knowledge)
- Anaphylaxis and Asthma Response/Management training
- Valid Working With Children Check
- Strong interpersonal skills—calm, caring, and confident communicating with students, families and staff
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Strong admin and systems confidence (Microsoft/Google); student database experience is helpful (not essential)
- Professional presentation, reliability, and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Requirement to align with the school’s faith-based ethos (Christian faith)
