The role:
As a Remote Area Nurse within the Healthy Under 5's Program, you will provide culturally appropriate, patient-centred healthcare to children in Maningrida.
Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will lead preventative health initiatives, ensure timely follow-up of client care, and contribute to community education and health promotion. You’ll manage client records and referral pathways, actively participate in outreach activities, and provide mentorship to community health workers. Your role ensures delivery of high-quality health outcomes aligned with program goals and cultural safety principles.
Requirements
:
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Practicing Certificate
- Minimum 5 years nursing experience including 3 years in remote primary health care
- Current Advanced Life Support and Remote Emergency Care certifications
- Mandatory reporting training for child protection and relevant NT clearances (Ochre card, Working with Children)
- Current driver’s license and satisfactory criminal history check
- Strong clinical assessment, communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to live and work in a remote Indigenous community
