The Role:
As a Registered Nurse – Mental Health, you will deliver high-quality, client-centered care within the Mental Health Inpatient Unit, including acute psychiatric and observation areas.
You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and carers to meet National Health and Mental Health standards. Additionally, you’ll promote recovery-focused treatment plans and support the professional development of nursing staff.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring patient safety and care comply with the Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation. Your role includes coordinating nursing activities, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to a compassionate healthcare environment.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse AHPRA
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in Mental Health nursing, including managing self-harm presentations and suicidal ideation
- Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and related legislation
- Effective interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to high professional standards and quality improvement
- Successful completion of all pre-employment checks including Criminal Record Screening and Working with Children Check
