Registered Nurse, Aged Care – Inverell

The role:
As a Registered Nurse in aged care, you will deliver exceptional clinical care within established nursing guidelines and policies. You will play a pivotal role in assessing residents’ health needs, developing care plans, and providing direct nursing services. Your expertise will ensure that residents receive respectful, individualized care that prioritizes their wellbeing and dignity.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will provide leadership and supervision to enrolled nurses, care staff, and volunteers. Collaborating with the Facility Manager, you will assist in managing staff performance, supporting new team members, and fostering a positive, respectful workplace culture. You will also take on the important role of Chief Fire Warden, ensuring safety readiness and emergency response protocols are rigorously upheld.
Requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience in aged care or related nursing practices
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clear and precise documentation
- Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a multidisciplinary care team
- Commitment to working effectively within team environments and maintaining resident-centered care
- Understanding of the Aged Care Act and relevant accreditation standards
- Ability to undertake mandatory education and WH&S training, including fire warden responsibilities
Nice to have:
- Experience supervising staff in an aged care setting
- Knowledge of AN-ACC Care Minute requirements and aged care legislation
- Advanced skills in wound and pain management
- Prior exposure to continuous quality improvement and clinical governance activities
