The role:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments to identify each child's unique needs. You will develop and implement personalized therapy plans aimed at improving sensory processing, motor skills, and functional independence. You will deliver goal-oriented interventions, support families in understanding progress, and provide guidance on strategies to support development at home and in educational settings.
Building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families is essential, as is collaborating with teachers, speech therapists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach. You'll also participate in team meetings, contribute to ongoing case reviews, and stay current with best practices through continuous professional development. The role offers a blend of hands-on therapy and consultative work, requiring flexibility and strong communication skills to support each child's journey toward greater independence and confidence.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified and registered Occupational Therapist with OT Australia certification
- Minimum 12 months relevant experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Current Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening, and Medicare Provider Number
