We're partnering with a highly regarded not-for-profit organisation seeking an experienced Front Desk & Business Support Officer to join their Canberra Head Office. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of a values-driven team supporting vulnerable members of the community.

As the first person clients, visitors and stakeholders meet, you'll play a vital role in creating a welcoming, professional and caring environment while providing high-quality administrative support across the organisation.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional reception role. As the Front Desk & Business Support Officer , you'll be at the heart of the organisation, ensuring the office operates smoothly while delivering an exceptional experience for every person who walks through the door.

You'll warmly welcome clients, many of whom may be experiencing vulnerability, making empathy, compassion and professionalism essential to your success.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a friendly and professional front-of-house reception service
  • Managing incoming calls, emails, mail and deliveries
  • Coordinating meeting rooms, visitor bookings and office facilities
  • Assisting with travel arrangements and event coordination
  • Liaising with contractors and service providers
  • Supporting fleet and facilities administration
  • Assisting with internal communications and creating staff newsletters
  • Providing administrative support across multiple business functions
  • Contributing to operational improvement projects
  • Maintaining accurate records while ensuring confidentiality and privacy compliance
  • Helping create a positive, welcoming and organised workplace environment
About You

You're someone who genuinely enjoys helping others and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service. You bring a positive, can-do attitude and thrive in a busy environment where no two days are the same.

You'll ideally have experience within the not-for-profit, disability, community services or broader care sector, although candidates from other industries with strong reception and administration experience are encouraged to apply.

You'll bring:

  • Previous experience in reception and administrative support
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • A warm, approachable and welcoming personality
  • A caring, empathetic and professional approach
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to think creatively and solve problems
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills
  • High levels of discretion and confidentiality
  • Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working With Vulnerable People Card (or willingness to obtain)
