Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and communities through culturally appropriate counselling and psychosocial care.

On offer:
  • Salary up to $93,000 base + Super + Salary Sacrifice
  • District allowance of $8,700
  • Five weeks' annual leave and 10 days paid study leave (subject to approval)

The role:

As a Counsellor in the SEWB team, you will deliver trauma-informed, culturally secure counselling services aimed at strengthening social and emotional wellbeing. Your work will involve conducting psychosocial assessments, developing support plans, and providing individual and family counselling, including outreach and community engagement. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and service providers will be key to ensuring holistic care coordination and positive client outcomes.

You will also be involved in promoting SEWB services within the community, supporting client access to services, maintaining accurate, confidential client records, and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Diploma in Counselling, Mental Health, Community Services or related discipline as a minimum - Bachelors or Masters Counselling preferred. 
  • Membership or willingness to register with the Australian Counselling Association or a relevant body eg ACA 
  • Understanding of SEWB issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Experience delivering culturally sensitive counselling or psychosocial support services to diverse populations 
  • Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
  • WA Driver’s Licence
