The role:

As a Clinician, you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide youth-friendly, evidence-informed, developmentally appropriate, family-inclusive and culturally responsive clinical and therapeutic services to young people aged 12 to 25 years. You will work across the care pathway, including intake, screening, assessment, formulation, brief intervention, therapeutic support, care coordination, supported referral, clinical review, closure and transition, within your qualifications, registration, experience and scope of practice.

You will provide individualised support to young people experiencing mental health concerns, trauma, alcohol and other drug concerns, family-related issues and other psychosocial challenges. The role also involves risk identification and escalation, basic AOD screening and brief intervention, stakeholder engagement, supported referrals, documentation, multidisciplinary case review, community engagement and contributing to continuous service improvement. 

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Counselling, Psychotherapy or another approved clinical or therapeutic discipline
  • Current professional registration or membership relevant to your discipline, such as AHPRA, AASW, ACA Level 3+, PACFA Clinical Registration or equivalent
  • Minimum two years’ experience in mental health, counselling, therapeutic or related clinical services
  • Demonstrated experience providing counselling, brief intervention, therapeutic support and/or care coordination within your professional scope of practice
  • Experience supporting young people aged 12 to 25 and working with families, carers and support networks
  • Strong understanding of youth mental health, trauma-informed practice, family-inclusive practice, recovery-oriented care and culturally safe practice
  • Understanding of mental health assessment, risk identification, referral, care coordination and supported transition
  • Ability to provide or support basic alcohol and other drug screening, brief intervention, harm minimisation and referral within scope of practice
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational and documentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and engage effectively with external stakeholders
  • Current driver's licence and access to a registered, comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check
  • Australian work rights
