The Role:
This role sits within the executive team of a not-for-profit NGO delivering alcohol and other drug services, providing strategic and clinical leadership across a range of programs within the sector. The position is responsible for overseeing clinical governance, ensuring services meet quality, safety, and compliance standards, and supporting best-practice service delivery.
The role involves leading the design, implementation and evaluation of clinical programs, while monitoring outcomes and driving continuous improvement. You will provide expert guidance to Program Managers and clinical teams, building workforce capability and supporting professional development. You will contribute to organisational strategy, policy development and decision-making, while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, partners and funders.
The position also plays a key role in risk management, incident reporting, and maintaining accreditation and compliance frameworks. This is a senior leadership role suited to an experienced clinician with strong governance, strategic and operational expertise.
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in addiction studies, psychology, nursing or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, program development and clinical governance
- Strong understanding of alcohol and other drug treatment services or a related sector
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary teams
- High-level communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Experience in policy development, service design and applying legislative frameworks
- Strong analytical, research and evaluation skills to inform service improvement
- Ability to manage risk, compliance and quality assurance processes
- Current National Police Check, Working With Vulnerable People Check and Driver’s Licence
