The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Practitioner to join their multidisciplinary mental health team. This role provides the opportunity to make a profound impact on the wellbeing of children, young people, and adults across the region.
The Clinical Practitioner will form part of a dedicated mental health and wellbeing team, responsible for delivering high-quality intake, assessment, therapeutic intervention, and referral services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing person-centred intake, assessment and intervention in collaboration with the Clinical Manager and wider multidisciplinary team
- Delivering recovery-oriented psychological interventions, including counselling, case management, group facilitation, and stepped-care support
- Participating in multidisciplinary case reviews with internal and external specialists
- Supporting program workers and contributing to the delivery of high-quality psychosocial services
- Maintaining accurate, timely case notes and clinical reports
- Upholding compliance across WHS, legislative frameworks, risk management, and governance requirements
- Building strong relationships with mental health, AOD, primary health, emergency, community, and justice services
- Representing the organisation at community and sector events
- Supporting weekend therapeutic consultation rosters as required
This role requires strong collaboration, clinical decision-making, and the ability to navigate complex service delivery environments.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, or Social Work (with Mental Health accreditation)
- Current registration with AHPRA or AASW
- Minimum 2 years supervised experience in mental health and/or alcohol and other drugs (AOD)
- Experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions using a trauma-informed, person-centred, recovery-oriented approach
- Experience participating in multiservice case reviews with clinicians, health district staff, and government/non-government partners
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and conflict-management capabilities
- Experience implementing and monitoring quality assurance, risk management and feedback-informed processes
- Current National Police Check , Working With Children Check
