The Role:

Our client is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to deliver evidence-based services to children, young people, and adults with disabilities. The focus of the role is to reduce the occurrence and impact of behaviours of concern while minimising the use of restrictive practices.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct functional behavioural assessments and develop person-centred support plans
  • Collaborate with families, carers, guardians, and other stakeholders to design effective strategies that enhance quality of life
  • Provide training and guidance to those implementing support plans
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare professional reports for NDIS and other stakeholders
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, external providers, and the wider community
  • Role model best practice and engage in continuous learning and professional development

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in psychology, speech pathology, social work, occupational therapy or similar
  • Eligible registration as a core, proficient or advanced behaviour support practitioner under the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission
  • Experience in delivering or developing behaviour support plans, or a strong desire to develop skills in this area
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based practice and positive behaviour support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • High-level interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with stakeholders
  • Current Australian driver’s licence
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
