Donnchadh Lawlor graduated with a Masters in Criminology and a Bachelor of Psychology before beginning his career as a social worker. His time supporting vulnerable people on the frontline gave him a clear understanding of the role skilled staff play in making a difference to lives. In 2015, he moved into recruitment for social work and healthcare, combining his academic background with a passion for improving services through better workforce solutions.
Over the past 10 years he has led, grown and developed high-performing recruitment teams, delivering large-scale projects across Community Services, Allied Health and Nursing.
In founding Curamoir, Donnchadh set out to build a business that lived its values while scaling sustainably. In just four years, the company has grown to a team of 14 across Perth and Sydney and has been recognised with multiple industry awards: TIARA 2023 Best New Recruitment Company, TIARA 2024 Best in Client Service, TIARA 2024 Growth Company of the Year, and Recruiter Insider 2025 Best in Candidate Care for Healthcare/Medical. He is particularly proud of Curamoir’s adoption of new technology, with over 15 tools added in the past two years to improve the client and candidate experience.
As CEO, Donnchadh is known for being direct, energetic and solution-focused. He is passionate about scaling and developing recruitment teams, finding candidates quickly for hard-to-fill regional roles, and building strong client partnerships.
Outside of work, Donnchadh supports community causes, particularly youth homelessness and mental health. He enjoys HIIT training, sea swimming, and watching Ireland compete on the world stage, alongside his lifelong support of Newcastle United.
