Dervla McBreen began her career in marketing and brand management in Ireland, working with leading FMCG companies. After relocating to Australia, she found her calling in healthcare recruitment, starting as a Candidate Manager and progressing to a consultant role, where she now specialises in Social and Community roles across NSW.
Building long-term relationships with employers and candidates is what makes Dervla love coming to work every day. She’s especially motivated by the problem-solving aspect of healthcare recruitment, such as tackling complex workforce challenges and addressing shortages in rural and regional areas by identifying and placing hard-to-find talent.
Dervla’s approachability and dedication to people’s success have earned her recognition, including Curamoir’s recent award for Best Healthcare/Medical Candidate Experience 2025.
Clients and candidates alike praise Dervla for her open communication, empathy, and genuine support. Outside of work, Dervla enjoys travelling, exploring new places in Australia, swimming, keeping active at the gym, and socialising with friends. She’s also committed to giving back, participating in initiatives like Sleep Out 2024 for Stepping Stone House, City2Surf for Little Wings, and regular blood donations with LifeBlood. And when St Patrick’s Day rolls around, she never misses the Lansdowne Club celebration at Sydney’s ICC – a joyous reminder of her Irish roots, Guinness, Tayto crisps, and all.
