The Role

As the Senior Clinical Manager, you will lead and oversee the clinical and administrative operations of multidisciplinary clinical services, ensuring excellence in service delivery, safety, and recovery-oriented practice. Working under the General Manager, Services, this role supports a multi-site, multidisciplinary team of Clinical Leads and Centre Managers — specifically Mental Health Social Workers, Psychologists, and Mental Health Nurses — by:

  • Providing clinical supervision and line management
  • Overseeing clinical governance and driving service improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring high-quality care planning, risk management, and client outcomes
  • Monitoring service compliance with headspace Model Integrity Framework
  • Leading local induction, professional development, and quality assurance
  • Supporting operational reporting to funders and licensure authorities
  • Upholding trauma-informed, person-centred and culturally responsive care
  • Contributing to organisational leadership, research, innovation and integration efforts



Requirements

(Essential)

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or related allied health discipline
  • Membership with an appropriate professional body (e.g. AHPRA, AASW)
  • Eligibility for registration with Medicare as an MBS Primary Care or Allied Mental Health Professional provider
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mental health service delivery
  • Demonstrated leadership and clinical supervision experience
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and complex service systems
  • Experience in service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement
  • High-level communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills
  • Strong digital literacy and experience with electronic client systems

(Desirable)

  • Postgraduate qualifications in business or health service management
  • Understanding of the Australian healthcare and mental health service system
  • Experience working with youth mental health or primary care models (e.g. headspace)
  • Experience providing clinical supervision to mental health clinicians
  • Current driver's licence
