The role:

As an Occupational Therapist with our client, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, effective, and efficient services to clients, primarily within the NDIS and Aged Care frameworks. Your role will focus on increasing clients' function and independence in all aspects of their lives by conducting specific assessments, interventions, and planning. You will work as part of an integrated healthcare team, delivering person-centred, holistic, and goal-directed care that promotes clients' wellness and active participation in decisions about their care.

In this diverse role, you will manage a caseload of clients, ensuring adherence to both our client's and funding requirements. You will perform a variety of OT-specific tasks, including assessments, home safety management, and case management. Your responsibilities will extend to planning and managing home modifications, prescribing equipment, and providing ongoing therapy support. You will also assess clients' needs for mobility aids such as scooters and electric wheelchairs, ensuring their safety and functionality in accessing the community.

Your role will involve regular communication and coordination with clients, their families, referrers, doctors, and other allied health professionals to achieve optimal outcomes. You will be expected to participate in integrated health care meetings, provide advice and consultation, and maintain client files as per our client's policies. Additionally, you will contribute to the mentoring and development of students, offering health education and prevention advice to clients, carers, and other health professionals.

As part of your responsibilities, you will manage clients' services effectively within agreed diary structures and service agreements, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting. You will actively participate in team meetings, quality initiatives, and the development of effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Representing the OT service within the organization and the community, you will collaborate with other community services and professional staff to promote cooperative relationships and ensure the best possible care for clients.

Essential Criteria
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy or relevant discipline
  • Full AHPRA registration
  • Experience supporting clients availing of NDIS services
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check and Orientation Modules
  • Police Check
