The Role:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and commercially minded General Manager to lead the MLS business unit, overseeing growth, service delivery, and operational performance. This is a hands on leadership role with full accountability for team management, client success, and business development.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the General Manager will:

  • Manage end-to-end team leadership for a group of five, ensuring high performance and engagement
  • Drive business growth through new contracts, clients, and referral channels
  • Act as the primary face of the business unit with regular client-facing responsibilities
  • Work closely with independent doctors and medical specialists to ensure quality service delivery
  • Oversee operations management, including compliance, service standards, and file reviews
  • Develop and execute annual growth plans while identifying new revenue opportunities
  • Source and secure work through networking, tenders, and relationship building
  • Collaborate with marketing and account management teams to enhance brand presence
  • Manage budgets, financial performance, and profitability for the MLS unit


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing, delivering, and implementing Medico-Legal Services (Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident schemes)
  • Experience in end-to-end team leadership, preferably within a client-facing environment
  • Strong track record in generating new business and building long-term client relationships
  • Operational management skills, including oversight of service delivery, compliance, and file reviews
  • Commercial acumen with P&L and budget management experience
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work closely with independent doctors and specialist panels
  • Qualifications are not essential – relevant experience and results are highly valued
