The role
The Behaviour Support Practitioner is responsible for providing specialist behaviour support services to NDIS participants with complex and challenging behaviours. The role involves working collaboratively with participants, their families, carers and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualised behaviour support plans that promote positive behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Positive behaviour support assessment and interventions
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of NDIS participants' behaviour support needs.
  • Functional behaviour assessments and the development of positive behaviour support plans.
  • Provide specialist behaviour support services to NDIS participants, including the development and implementation of behaviour support plans, training and coaching of support workers, and ongoing monitoring and review of progress.
  • Work collaboratively with participants, their families, carers and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualised behaviour support plans that meet their needs, preferences and goals.
  • Attend regular team meetings and participate in professional development activities to maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice in behaviour support.
Essential Criteria
  • Tertiary Qualification in Psychology, Social Work or Disability or equivalent.
  • Relevant registration associated with qualification.
  • BSP Registration, Specialist desired - other levels welcome to apply
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support principles and evidence-based interventions
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Working With Children Check
