The role
The Behaviour Support Practitioner is responsible for providing specialist behaviour support services to NDIS participants with complex and challenging behaviours. Key Responsibilities
- Positive behaviour support assessment and interventions
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of NDIS participants' behaviour support needs.
- Functional behaviour assessments and the development of positive behaviour support plans.
- Provide specialist behaviour support services to NDIS participants, including the development and implementation of behaviour support plans, training and coaching of support workers, and ongoing monitoring and review of progress.
- Work collaboratively with participants, their families, carers and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualised behaviour support plans that meet their needs, preferences and goals.
- Attend regular team meetings and participate in professional development activities to maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice in behaviour support.
- Tertiary Qualification in Psychology, Social Work or Disability or equivalent.
- Relevant registration associated with qualification.
- BSP Registration, Specialist desired - other levels welcome to apply
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Understanding of positive behaviour support principles and evidence-based interventions
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
