The Role:

The Behaviour Support Practitioner will deliver evidence-based behaviour support services to children, young people and adults, aiming to reduce the occurrence and impact of behaviours of concern and minimise the use of restrictive practices. Working as part of a collaborative clinical team, you will conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments, develop and review behaviour support plans, and provide training and guidance to families, carers and staff implementing those plans. The role requires you to maintain accurate clinical notes, meet service delivery targets, and foster strong relationships with participants, stakeholders, and other service providers. You will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and uphold best practice standards while working towards positive outcomes for people with disability.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in psychology, speech pathology, social work, occupational therapy or similar
  • Eligible registration as a core, proficient or advanced behaviour support practitioner under the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission
  • Experience in delivering or developing behaviour support plans, or a strong desire to develop skills in this area
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based practice and positive behaviour support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • High-level interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with stakeholders
  • Current Australian driver’s licence
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination
