The Role:
As Team Leader, you will lead a small team of Case Workers delivering early intervention support to children and families through the Family Preservation Program. You will provide regular supervision, support practice development, and guide your team in implementing the Thriving Families Framework. This role focuses on building capacity, embedding evidence-informed practice, and ensuring strong service delivery aligned with program and legislative requirements. You will oversee referrals, assessments, and caseload management, ensuring families receive high-quality, responsive support. The position works closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and funders to ensure program targets are met. You will also manage reporting and compliance responsibilities and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. The role is supported by an Area Manager and offers a strong network of peer and cross-team collaboration.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualifications in social work, psychology or a related discipline
- Demonstrated leadership or senior practitioner experience in child and family or community services
- Proven experience applying trauma-informed and child-focused practice
- Strong skills in staff supervision, coaching, and performance development
- Experience working with vulnerable and complex families, including culturally diverse communities
- Sound knowledge of child protection legislation, risk assessment and safety planning
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client management systems
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check
- NSW Driver’s License
