The role:

The role entails providing comprehensive administrative and secretariat support to both the client and the joint secretariat for the Justice Policy Partnership, co-chaired by the client and the Commonwealth Attorney General’s Department. Responsibilities include serving as the main point of contact for the client, managing their inbox, and facilitating communication within the organisation. Additionally, the role involves supporting the JPP Secretariat and its members by preparing meeting materials, organising sessions, and documenting proceedings. Maintenance of file management systems, data collection, and coordination of documentation updates and action tracking are also crucial aspects of the position.


Criteria:
  • Identify and be recognised in the community as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Person
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competence through education, training, or experience
  • Demonstrated alignment with the clients values and vision, showing appreciation and sensitivity to community challenges in justice, equity, and self-determination
  • Understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples' histories, cultures, languages, and traditions
  • Effective and respectful communication and collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, organisations, and communities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare documentation promptly
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
  • High levels of motivation, energy, and commitment to professional excellence and self-determination
  • Competent use of Microsoft 365 platforms
  • Preparedness and willingness to travel as required
