Our client, a respected provider of human services in the Northern Territory, is actively seeking a dedicated Disability Support Service Manager. In this role, you will take the lead in overseeing the operations of the Darwin Disability Support Service, ensuring it aligns with NDIS practice standards and delivers tailored support to a diverse range of participants and their families.

The Role:

Reporting to the Director Age & Disability, this position focuses on the day-to-day management of the Disability Support Service in the Darwin region. The ideal candidate will hold prior service delivery knowledge and experience in the disability (NDIS) sector and will have demonstrated experience leading and providing supervision to staff.

We are looking for a qualified and compassionate individual who can demonstrate a deep understanding of the health, disability, and community services sector. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of direct service delivery experience, coupled with the ability to manage staff, provide operational support, and ensure cultural sensitivity. 

To excel in this position, you should possess knowledge of legislative requirements, contemporary frameworks, national reforms, and NDIS principles. Strong communication, administration, and teamwork skills are essential, along with proficiency in NDIS financial modeling and claiming processes.

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated commitment to work respectfully and inclusively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse people. 
  • Demonstrated adherence to legislation, policies and procedures and a commitment to EEO, WHS, risk management and quality improvement practices. 
  • Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
  • National Police Criminal History Report (less than three months old) with acceptable outcome. 
  • Ability to meet 100-point ID and additional visa / overseas work compliance measures.
