The role:
As a Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-informed behaviour support services grounded in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) principles. This person-centred and human rights-based approach aims to enhance the quality of life for people with disability by addressing behaviours of concern in a respectful, strengths-focused manner. You will collaborate closely with individuals, families, and support teams to develop tailored strategies that reduce behaviours of concern and promote meaningful engagement, communication, and independence.

In this role, you will undertake complex functional behaviour assessments and translate findings into clear, proactive Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans. You’ll adapt strategies to a range of settings and provide training to those within the person’s support system to ensure consistency and effectiveness. Monitoring the impact of your interventions and supporting the reduction of restrictive practices are key responsibilities, alongside contributing to outcomes aligned with participant goals and improved wellbeing.

As a Proficient Practitioner, you will have demonstrated capabilities under the NDIS PBS Capability Framework, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of practice. You will receive formal supervision from an Advanced or Specialist Practitioner and may also supervise Core-level practitioners. This role requires a confident and compassionate clinician who upholds the rights of people with disability and is dedicated to continuous improvement in behaviour support practices.

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a BSP
