The role:
As a Speech Pathologist, you will have the opportunity to plan, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive speech pathology services tailored to the individual strengths, needs, and priorities of your clients, including those participating in the NDIS. Your role will involve conducting detailed subjective and objective assessments using standardized outcome measures to inform effective therapeutic interventions. Through your expert care, you will facilitate the enhancement of communication abilities and overall quality of life for your clients.

Your responsibilities will extend to collaborative goal-setting with clients, crafting both short and long-term objectives during consultations to ensure personalized and effective treatment plans. You will be instrumental in supporting client inclusion and active participation in their chosen communities, striving to provide services that resonate with their specific life contexts and aspirations.

Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with other professionals to deliver high-quality services. This will include maintaining productive relationships with local community members and families, ensuring that your interventions are well-coordinated and meet the contractual and quality standards expected of you. Your role will also require strict adherence to funding guidelines to maximize the beneficial impact of provided services.

Continuous professional development is key in this role, requiring you to stay updated with the latest in speech pathology practices and developments. You will also be responsible for a range of administrative duties including data collection, record-keeping, report writing, and managing communications related to NDIS. As a mentor to junior speech pathology staff, you will guide and support the professional growth of newer clinicians, ensuring that your team's practices meet the high standards of care and compliance expected in the field.

Essential Criteria
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Speech Pathology or relevant discipline
  • SPA registration
  • Experience supporting clients availing of NDIS services
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check and Orientation Modules
  • Police Check
