The Role

As a Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for delivering independent, high-standard clinical services to a diverse caseload. The role includes conducting assessments, providing therapeutic interventions, and offering specialist advice across various service delivery modes such as schools, homes, and clinics. Additionally, you will be involved in resource development, peer support, and contributing to service innovations.

You will also be expected to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage in community and professional development, and provide mentoring to junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech pathology assessments and interventions
  • Develop individualised therapy plans to address a wide range of speech and language issues
  • Provide support and consultation to schools, families, and other professionals
  • Contribute to service and resource development, ensuring a high standard of practice
  • Participate in professional development and quality improvement activities
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and students
  • Engage with clients and families to navigate NDIA processes and other funding bodies

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Speech Pathology and registration with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Minimum of 2 years' paediatric clinical experience
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based practice in speech pathology
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
  • Experience working with children, families, and a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required
  • Eligibility for Medicare and private health fund registration
