The role:
As a Senior Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based speech pathology services. Your role will involve assessing participants' speech, language, and assistive technology needs and creating individualized intervention plans. You will work closely with participants and their families to establish therapy goals, focusing on maximizing outcomes through available resources. You'll also contribute to evaluating and reviewing participant progress while supporting mealtime and swallowing assessments.
Additionally, you will play a vital role in mentoring and supervising junior therapists and students, ensuring the overall growth and competency of the team. You’ll be expected to provide clinical guidance, share your expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and support therapists working with complex communication needs. Your leadership will extend to managing workloads, prioritizing tasks, and contributing to the development of the therapy team’s services and quality initiatives.
Your role will also encompass a commitment to administrative excellence, maintaining detailed documentation, and ensuring compliance with relevant clinical governance standards. You will participate in quality improvement projects and professional development opportunities, fostering a culture of innovation and best practice. As a Senior Speech Pathologist, your influence will help shape and enhance the broader speech pathology and allied health services.
Essential Criteria
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Speech Pathology
  • Registration with SPA
  • Minimum 2 years' experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge supporting adult 
  • Current Police Check, NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Children Check
  • Driving License
