The role:
As a Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will lead with expertise and compassion, playing a crucial role in advancing high-quality, evidence-based practices. Your primary duties include providing clinical supervision to junior Behaviour Support Practitioners, guiding their development through structured mentorship and feedback. You will also conduct thorough Functional Behaviour Assessments and other evaluations using formal tools and clinical interviews. This role requires you to design and implement tailored behavioural intervention plans that enhance the quality of life for clients, addressing behaviours of concern and promoting positive outcomes.
Collaboration is at the heart of this position. You will work closely with clients, their families, support workers, and a multidisciplinary team to create and maintain comprehensive, person-centred Behaviour Support Plans. Your responsibilities extend to facilitating case conferences, engaging with professionals across disciplines, and promoting cohesive support strategies. A key aspect of your role includes coaching families and staff to understand clients' needs and implement effective strategies, contributing to the reduction of restrictive practices in line with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards.
In addition to client-focused work, you will contribute to the growth of your team and the broader practice. This includes offering secondary consultations, acting as a professional role model, and leading in-house professional development sessions aligned with your expertise. Your input will foster a culture of continuous learning and high ethical standards, ensuring best practices in trauma-informed and inclusive support for all clients. This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner with a passion for leadership and a commitment to driving meaningful change in the lives of those you support.
Essential Criteria- Minimum Bachelor degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or qualifications in ABA/BCBA
- Minimum 2 years' experience
- Ideally Proficient BSP Registration or above
- Experience working as Behaviour Support Practitioner
- Experience with clients present with developmental delays, autism, mental health and dual diagnosis'
- Police Check
- WWCC
- NDIS Working Screening Check and Orientational Modules
- Access to fully insured and reliable vehicle
