The Role

As Principal Psychologist, you will lead and coordinate the delivery of clinical services. Around 30% of your role will involve conducting assessments and providing interventions for complex clients, with the remainder focused on delivering high-quality leadership and support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, and AOD specialists.

  • Overseeing offence-specific and offence-related interventions.

  • Contributing to the development of evidence-based programs that promote wellbeing and rehabilitation.

  • Balancing clinical expertise with operational oversight to drive positive outcomes in a secure but supportive environment.

Requirements

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Current registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.

  • Proven experience supervising or mentoring clinical staff.

  • Strong assessment, intervention, and case formulation skills.

  • A collaborative, outcomes-focused approach with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

  • Resilience, authenticity, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

  • Interest in innovative rehabilitation models and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Highly regarded (not essential):

  • Experience in forensic, correctional, or complex mental health settings.

  • Board-approved supervisor status.
