Our Client

Our client is a leading provider of Positive Behaviour Support services, dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to live their best lives. By working collaboratively with individuals, their families, and support networks, our client delivers innovative, evidence-based support strategies to create meaningful outcomes for those they serve.

Their core values emphasise respect, compassion, collaboration, and resilience, which guide their approach to service delivery and workplace culture.

The Role

As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based behavioural intervention services to individuals with disabilities. Your role will involve conducting comprehensive functional behaviour assessments (FBAs) to identify unmet needs, developing individualised positive behaviour support (PBS) plans, and working closely with the individual and their support network to implement these strategies.

The ultimate aim is to enhance the quality of life for individuals by increasing their independence and equipping their support networks with the skills necessary to sustain progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional behaviour assessments to determine the underlying causes of behaviours of concern
  • Develop and implement tailored PBS plans based on assessment results
  • Provide training and support to individuals and their support networks to ensure consistent application of PBS strategies
  • Monitor and review PBS plans regularly, adjusting as needed for optimal outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines, including NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards
  • Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress

Essential Criteria

  • A relevant qualification in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of the positive behaviour support framework and principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Experience with data collection and analysis for behavioural assessments
  • Proficiency in managing complex cases and developing person-centred plans
  • A demonstrated commitment to strengths-based, neuro-affirming, and trauma-informed approaches
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
  • Current driver's licence, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Working with Children Check (or eligibility to apply)
