The role:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating tailored therapy services to a diverse caseload of customers, including NDIS participants. Your work will emphasize building upon the strengths, needs, and priorities of families and clients. This involves conducting thorough subjective and objective assessments using standardized outcome measures, followed by designing and implementing therapeutic treatments based on your findings. Your role is pivotal in empowering clients, whether they are paediatric, adult, or spanning across the lifespan, to enhance their ability to participate in daily activities and achieve their personal goals.
In collaboration with clients, you will engage in setting achievable short-term and long-term goals during consultations, supporting their inclusion and active participation in their chosen communities. Your role involves not just direct service delivery, but also fostering positive and productive relationships between local communities, and families to ensure a holistic approach to care.
You will provide services within the financial frameworks set by various funding sources, including the NDIS, ensuring that all interventions are cost-effective yet high in quality. Part of your responsibilities will also include collaborating closely with other professionals to deliver comprehensive support tailored to individual client needs.
Professional development is a key component of your role; you will be expected to participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay abreast of the latest in occupational therapy practices. Additionally, you will handle essential administrative duties ranging from data collection to detailed record keeping, ensuring all activities align with the organisations duty of care and adhere to our Code of Practice and quality service standards.
Essential Criteria- Minimum Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy or relevant discipline
- AHPRA registration
- Experience supporting clients availing of NDIS services
- NDIS Workers Screening Check and Orientation Modules
- Police Check
