The role:

As an occupational therapist,, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of teenagers and young adults with disabilities through therapy, assessments, and report preparation. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess exceptional communication skills, and have prior experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, and mental health issues. This role involves both face-to-face interactions and travel to community appointments, with the flexibility to work remotely when feasible.

  • Provide therapy in clinic, community, and via telehealth
  • Work with clients individually or in small groups
  • Conduct assessments and planning for NDIS participants
  • Collaborate with team to ensure comprehensive care
  • Build and manage caseload through outreach and networking
  • Liaise with clients, families, referrers, and other professionals
  • Participate in mentoring and development of students
  • Maintain professional development through education and supervision

 

 

Essential Criteria:
Full AHPRA registration is required

  • Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and First Aid Certificate
  • Current driver’s license and access to own vehicle
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Experience supporting NDIS clients
  • Interest in working with teenagers and young adults with autism and intellectual disabilities
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Compassionate, supportive nature
  • Agile with the ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
