Our Client:

You will be joining a multidisciplinary team focused on empowering young people aged 12-25 with early intervention and therapeutic mental health services.

The Role:
The Mental Health Practitioner will be responsible for providing clinical assessments, therapeutic interventions, and facilitating referrals for young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges. You will work in collaboration with the team to ensure best practice, maintaining clinical records, and supporting youth and their families in a culturally appropriate manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide youth-friendly mental health services and facilitate warm referrals.
  • Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments, risk assessments, and safety planning.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions and group work.
  • Support and collaborate with the team on intake and functional recovery groups.
  • Participate in community awareness sessions and outreach clinics.
  • Maintain clinical records and adhere to data collection standards.
Essential Criteria:
  • Approved tertiary qualification in a mental health-related discipline (e.g., Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker).
  • Current registration with the relevant regulatory body (AHPRA, AASW).
  • Experience in a mental health or youth service setting, with a solid understanding of youth mental health issues.
  • Commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and culturally diverse communities.
  • Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) and National Police Criminal History Report.
  • A valid NT driving licence.
