Our client is seeking a dedicated Homelessness Support Service Coordinator to lead a team committed to addressing homelessness within the New England service area. This full-time, ongoing position offers the opportunity to work with a passionate team within a community-focused organization. The Role
The Homelessness Support Service Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the delivery of culturally appropriate homelessness services across the Inverell, Tenterfield, Glen Innes/Severn, Armidale, and surrounding districts. The Coordinator will provide leadership and guidance to a team of caseworkers, ensuring that services are delivered consistently and in accordance with government guidelines and the organization's standards. This role involves working directly with clients to assess their needs, develop case management plans, and advocate on their behalf. Additionally, the Coordinator will engage with community service providers, facilitate meetings, and contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of services.

Essential Criteria
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (genuine occupational requirement).
  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory, coordinator, or managerial role, particularly in the context of homelessness.
  • Proven experience working with community-controlled organizations and Aboriginal communities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in computer software applications.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Current unrestricted Driver’s License.
  • Current Working with Children’s Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain these.
Desirable:
  • Experience in networking and referrals within the community services sector.
