Join a Leading Regional Health Service on a 6-Week Contract as a Grade 1 Clinical Social Worker

 

On Offer:

  • Casual - Full-time position (38 hours per week) – weekdays only (no public holidays/weekends)

  • 6–8-week contract with immediate start

  • Pay: $46.66 - $52.49 per hour + super

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Grade 1 Clinical Social Worker to join a leading Victorian regional hospital on a locum basis. You’ll need to hit the ground running in the acute admitted space with no upskilling required.

You will provide high-quality social work services across a variety of inpatient units including:

  • Emergency Department (ED)

  • Acute Medical and Surgical Wards

  • Maternity and Special Care Nursery (SCN)

  • Paediatrics and Intensive Care Unit (ICU)


Key responsibilities include:

  • Complex psychosocial assessments and interventions

  • Crisis management and discharge planning

  • Working with NDIS participants, RACF transitions, and VCAT-related matters

  • Liaising with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centred care

  • Navigating service referrals and care coordination with community agencies


Please note, this vacancy is for a Clinical Social Worker in an acute health setting, not a Mental Health Social Worker role.

 


Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work with eligibility for AASW membership

  • Previous Australian hospital experience in an acute inpatient environment is essential

  • Proven ability to manage clinical risk, crisis intervention, and complex discharge planning

  • Experience with NDIS, RACF discharges, and VCAT proceedings

  • Current Working with Children Check, National Police Check, NDIS Workers Check, and a valid Driver’s Licence

  • Full working rights in Australia
