The role:
As a Core Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disability to improve their quality of life through evidence-based, person-centred approaches. Using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), you will work collaboratively with individuals, families, and support networks to understand and address behaviours of concern in a way that upholds human rights and promotes wellbeing. Your work will focus on building skills and independence by identifying the underlying needs behind behaviours and designing effective, strengths-based strategies.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting functional behaviour assessments, developing Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans, and implementing behaviour support strategies across various environments. You will also contribute to the training of those in the person's support network, ensuring consistent and safe application of plans. Monitoring progress and evaluating the effectiveness of strategies is essential, with a strong focus on reducing restrictive practices and enhancing quality of life outcomes.

To be successful, you will have a solid understanding of the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework and a commitment to continuous professional development. You will receive formal supervision to support your growth as a practitioner. This position is suited to a compassionate professional who values collaboration, accountability, and the rights of people with disability.
