 The Role

As a Case Worker within the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) program, you will provide responsive and compassionate support to individuals navigating recovery. Working under the guidance of a Senior Case Worker, your focus will be delivering case management services that empower participants and uphold dignity, choice, and harm minimisation.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting client assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering education, referrals, brief interventions, and group work
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and data collection in accordance with best practice case planning
  • Collaborating with external services and maintaining strong referral pathways
  • Adapting service delivery to meet individual and community needs using trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centred approaches
  • Participating in reflective practice and contributing to service innovation

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A minimum Diploma-level qualification in AOD, Community Services, Case Management or a related field
  • Completion of the 4 core AOD Skill Set Units (or willingness to complete upon employment)
  • At least two years of relevant experience in the recovery space (if applicable)
  • Sound knowledge of AOD, mental health, harm minimisation and trauma-informed frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience supporting individuals affected by substance use, gambling, and mental health challenges
  • Strong administrative, communication and time management skills
  • Ability to apply culturally inclusive practice and work respectfully with diverse communities
  • Valid NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Successful completion of a National Police Check
