The Clinical Coordinator holds a key leadership position within the Organisation. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Centre Manager and leadership teams to provide clinical leadership, line management, training and supervision of the multidisciplinary team. They will ensure that day-to-day clinical and non-clinical work is effectively carried out and meets the service needs of young people within the community.
Key Responsibilities Included but Not Limited To
- Provide clinical leadership and line management, consultation, advice,and expertise to staff in the delivery of mental health care to young people.
- Deliver clinical supervision/guidance in accordance with the companies Supervision Policy and provide professional day-to-day support to reporting team members.
- Provide training and orientations to new starters that align with company policies and processes.
- Provide and supervise the use of psycho-social assessments.
- Oversee all service delivery and internal/external referral pathways.
- Oversee and support a comprehensive intake service to young people, community members and professionals seeking services.
- Coordinate weekly clinical case review meetings and monthly multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure appropriate clinical service pathway and service delivery.
- Liaise with relevant referrers and other services to promote a consistent and coordinated service delivery response for young people and their families.
- Adhere to clinical reporting requirements.
- Tertiary level qualifications in Social Work, Psychology (clinical, counselling, 4+2 or 5+1 pathway), Mental Health Nursing, or Occupational Therapy. Registration with relevant professional body - e.g., AHPRA, AASW, ACA
- Current AHPRA registration or AASW membership.
- Working With Children’s Check
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience working with young people of families including those at risk of suicide, depression and/or self-harm, and an understanding of the issues that impact on families and young peoples’ lives.
- Experience in successfully leading/coordinating a team of staff.
- Demonstrated experience in preparation of reports with recommendations.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of people.
- Experience in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and CaLD communities.
- Understanding of the mental health service system in the state, and knowledge of relevant legislation.
